The reason and treatment method of high-pressure alarm of chiller
The high-pressure alarm is a protective measure of the chiller itself. If the chiller has poor heat dissipation (condenser water/air temperature is too high), the high-pressure protection will activate the chiller and fail to operate.
How to solve the high-pressure alarm problem of the chiller?
In principle: it is enough to improve the heat dissipation of the chiller.
Operationally speaking:
1. If it is an air-cooled chiller, it may be due to long-term use. The surface of the finned condenser is covered by dust, causing poor heat dissipation. At this time, it is only necessary to clean the surface of the condenser (it is necessary to improve the ventilation conditions and reduce the environment. Temperature).2. If it is a water-cooled chiller, it may be that the copper tube wall inside the condenser is fouled and the chiller has poor heat dissipation. At this time, the condenser can be used after cleaning.
I believe this is what many users want to know about how to deal with the high-pressure alarm of the chiller. When the unit has a high-pressure alarm failure, it will automatically start the protection device, and the corresponding fault indicator will be on. At this time, the chiller will stop and will not run, and the operator will need to use the following methods to troubleshoot. Or directly contact the chiller manufacturer for guidance.
1. If the water-cooled chiller high-pressure alarms, it is mainly related to the cooling water system. The water-cooled unit provides circulating cooling water through a cooling water tower. If you forget to open the cooling water valve during use, the cooling water cannot be circulated and supplied to the chiller, and a high-pressure failure will occur; in addition, check whether the cooling water tower is faulty. Unable to deliver cooling water safely and stably;
2. The cooling water flow is too small, or the temperature is too high and the heat dissipation is not good. This problem will also occur. If the cooling water flow is small, check whether the size of the matched pipeline matches the size of the chiller, or whether the water valve is opened to a larger position; if the temperature is too high, the heat dissipation is not good. For water-cooled chillers, check according to point 1. ; If it is an air-cooled chiller, we need to see whether the temperature of the installation environment exceeds 40℃, and if it exceeds 40℃, it must be exhausted in time to ensure that the unit is in a circulating air environment;
3. If the chiller is used for too long, it is easy to cause debris such as scale to accumulate in the pipe wall or the copper tube of the condenser, which will inevitably affect the refrigeration cycle system. Therefore, you should regularly perform maintenance work for the unit according to the maintenance time recommended by the manufacturer. (Clean the cooling water system, clean the condenser, replace the filter, etc.);
4. Check whether the refrigerant is excessive. The chiller will be charged with a proper amount of refrigerant before leaving the factory. Therefore, if there is no refrigerant leakage, the user does not need to charge the refrigerant during use. This must be remembered. Too much refrigerant will only affect The unit cannot be used normally.
5. Whether the opening degree of the expansion valve is too small. At this point, you can slowly adjust the opening of the expansion valve to troubleshoot.
